Background
For complimentary reasons and unique motivations, the dream of operating an Independent Insurance Agency sat at the forefront of the minds of Worth Insurance President, Hunter Miller and Owner, Scott McKnight, for several years before the two crossed paths at the perfect time.
An attorney since 1994, McKnight deals with auto-litigation and insurance carriers regularly and has realized the vast discrepancy between agencies who were helping clients and those who simply were not. Further, as the current owner of a local Real Estate Title Company, Scott sees inconsistent insurance rates with clients paying too much for inferior insurance coverage. Plagued with a desire to help his clients, but with no apparent avenue, the dream of creating an insurance company he could confidently point clients to was always at the tip of his tongue.
After owning a branch of Farmers Insurance for 7 years, Hunter Miller learned the ins and outs of the industry through the lens of serving everyone through just one market. With a growing desire to help as many people as possible, Hunter realized it was getting harder and harder to do so when he only had one product to sell. His dream of an independent agency where he could quote several carriers and truly get the most competitive price with the most effective coverage for his clients began to grow.
As Scott searched for an insurance expert and Hunter seperately searched to pave the way toward an independent insurance company, their paths crossed and the rest was history. Their “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” became a win-win partnership in late 2019 and Worth Insurance opened its doors in early 2020.
Driven by a customer service focus and a can-do attitude, Worth Insurance provides the technology and relationships to reach numerous markets. Worth strives to pair the right coverage with the right companies or individuals at the right price - no matter what.
The Team
Hunter Miller, President
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Hunter ventured south for college and graduated from Sam Houston State in 2012. You could chalk it up to many years on and around the golf course, but Hunter’s natural ease of engaging people and his desire to always help in anyway led him to pursue a career in Insurance upon graduating. After excelling in the business and eventually owning his own branch of Farmers Insurance for seven years, Hunter knew he longed to do more for clients by offering a wider array of policies. With this always in the back of his mind, Hunter finally broke out on his own in early 2019, and with this leap of faith his partnership with Scott McKnight was formed in later 2019. When he’s not in the office or trying to squeeze in a round of golf, Hunter and his wife Cady stay busy with their two young children, Beckett and Quinn.
Scott McKnight, Owner/Attorney
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Scott stayed true to his roots and graduated from Oklahoma University in 1989 and continued on to graduate from Oklahoma University Law School in 1993. Upon graduation from law school, Scott made the wise decision to come to Texas and utilized his law degree to open a Real Estate Title Company, McKnight Title, specializing in title insurance laws and regulations. With the natural parallels between title insurance and the rest of the insurance indusry, Scott always longed to find the right fit for so many clients he witnessed being taken advantage of by various policies. When he met Hunter in 2019, the dream began to unfold of finally offering a place with sound policies and procedures where he could direct his clients and friends. When Scott’s not at the McKnight Title or Worth Insurance office, he’s also trying to squeeze in a round of golf, but more than likely he’s tag-teaming with his wife Allison and at least one of their four children at a sporting event somewhere in the DFW metroplex.
Angela Miller
Licensed Sales Producer
Angela is a wife, mother, friend, follower of Christ and Grammy to precious grandbabies. Her huge heart lead her to market and consult with Hospice and Home Health for several years. Three years ago she left this realm to go to work with her son, Hunter — and what a ride it's been! As a lover of people and relationships, Angela truly wants what best suits the customer and this shows in how she blesses clients!
Shelby Hiles
Customer Service Representative
After graduting from Tarleton State, Shelby pursued a career in the Oil and Gas Industry for thirteen years. She left the industry to join the Worth Insurance team in May 2020, and her organizational and communication skills have benefited Worth immensely. Outside of work, Shelby rarely misses a good sweat at Camp Gladiator boot camp, and she loves spending time at the family ranch in Graham.
